Here is the latest remastered version of ViOrb. This is an update from Build 913 Usually i don't release alpha builds to the public but i decided to make this build open to get bug reports faster. (Please submit bugs in this topic). The reason its called "Re Mastered" is because it has been completely rewritten. This build is not associated with ViOrb 2.4 If you have a bug with another version of ViOrb submit it in the ViOrb bugs thread. To quit the remasterd version right click the Orb then press "ESC" or Alt+F4Extract the contents of the zip file Double click the ViOrb Remastered Executable Report bugs in this board Purposed Bugs Fixed: You need to be logged in to see message attachments

I just downloaded and installed build 919, and woo-hoo!! Everything seems to be fixed with the game issues. It's working great so far, and it is very responsive. I'll keep you updated on any changes or mysterious bugs that may arise. Thanks again, and as always, excellent work!!

Hipy, can you tell me exactly what programs you have running at that time? Also define "Crash", Everything closes does it (without an error message ?) ?

Both remastered versions crash my explorer complete. The only way to shutdown the system is the powerbutton. Returned to ViOrb 2.4

I have had the same problem. After clicking the ViOrb, and then clicking anywhere else, a message box comes up saying "Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. If you have any unsaved data, it may be lost." or something of the like. Then, the explorer.exe process terminates and restarts. I have not tested what happens to the ViOrb, as I closed it with Esc, but I suspect it will be left intact.
If you do not seem to be getting this issue, I publish some system data:
OS Name Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3 Build 2600 System Manufacturer Hewlett-Packard System Model Pavilion ze4500 (DM756A) System Type X86-based PC Processor x86 Family 15 Model 2 Stepping 9 GenuineIntel ~2392 Mhz BIOS Version/Date Phoenix Technologies Ltd. I am trying to replicate the error, I have tried on several VPC's (Win XP Sp3 x86). However i dont seem to get it. Do perhaps have WindowsBlinds or any desktop customisation software (This does not include Visual themes) ?

information:
windows xp prof , hewlett packard 2gig ram ddr2 3,2ghz p4 other running programmes: windows live messenger, xfire , rocketdock , wirelesutility, spyware doctor
u have to use it a longer time, its the viorb itself that crashes taking explorer with it, you get an error: viorb has encounterd erros and have to be closed or something

maybe you should try some of these. I think i got the dont send message but i dont really remember. Vistart, Truetransperancy, transbar, styler, desktopX object, IE7, abd windows live messenger hope they help Also i noticed while using the remastered version of viorb, vistart menu comes up quicker when you press the start button. if you use the beta 2.4 i think it is, vistart comes up slowly. Im not sure about everyone else, but thats wat happens to me.

Hi, I had the same problem dree12 has. my system: OS Name Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3 Build 2600 System Manufacturer Self build System Type X86-based PC Processor AMD Athlon 64x2 Dual Core 3600+ 1.9 GHz, 1Gb RAM BIOS Version Award (08/22/06) Memory DIMM1: Kingston 9905316-005.A04LF 1 Gb DDR2-667 DDR2 SDRAM Total Virtual Memory 2.00 GB Other running programs: Internet Explorer, ViStart, Outlook 2007
The issue happens most often when you use the [Windows] E shortcut to open an explorer window. In fact, when you try to use it. This makes me think (which is not going to help you) that it may also be related to Vistart. Other "crashes" (explorer closing) come from the quick launch bar "hopping" right and left. The Viorb being smaller than the original Start button, the quick launch bar tries to stick to the viorb, but doesn't always succeed, resulting in an explorer "crash". This 919 version seems to compensate at least that issue.
btw this it not a system I play games with. Software most often used is: Visual Studio 2008, Office 2007. If you need any specs...

Hi, Im new to this software. About a Week. Ive Noticed that both ViOrb 2.4 and Remastered ViOrb 919 'f**ks up' with TrueTransparency. What happens is: Click on Start( The Orb), It Repeatedly flashes, then Nothing Happens. The effect is worse on Remastered ViOrb Hopefully you can fix it. BTW: I Use XP Pro SP3

BTW: I Use XP Pro SP3 For that you need to add ViOrb to the exception List of TrueTransparency. "ViOrb_Win" is the window class name and it has no window name. Also please try the latest remastered build 938 to fix the ViOrb not responding bug. [Build 939]
