Here is the latest remastered version of ViOrb. Usually i don't release alpha builds to the public but i decided to make this build open to get bug reports faster. (Please submit bugs in this topic). The reason its called "Re Mastered" is because it has been completely rewritten. This build is not associated with ViOrb 2.4 If you have a bug with another version of ViOrb submit it in the ViOrb bugs thread. To quit the remastered version right click the Orb then press "ESC" or Alt+F4

Extract the contents of the zip file
Double click the ViOrb Remastered Executable

Very nice re-write. It's quick and snappy, this new ViOrb.

Anyways, the only problem that I noticed was that it really screwed up the Quick Launch programs after exiting ViOrb. They ended up hidden under the original Start button and had to restart Windows to get it back to normal. No big deal though.

Well, I'm sorry to report that this version (913) is still staying on the screen during gameplay for me.  But hey, thanks for making ViOrb in the first place, and offering it for free!   Keep up the great work, Lee. Smiley

Mr Mojo, Could you please tell me the name of the game you are playing so i can aquire it myself and do some testing ?

I did some further game testing, and found out that ViOrb stays on top of the games we play from BigFish games.   But, I tried a game from iWin Games, and it doesn't jump on top.

The games and clients are:

Hidden Expedition: Everest - BigFish games (ViOrb stays on top)
Hidden Expedition: Titanic - BigFish games (ViOrb stays on top)

Mysteryville - iWin games (ViOrb does not interfere)

It works fine one my computer. It uses about 988KB memory and around 1,196KB VM.

I tested it first on WMP11 full screen Visualization view - FINE
second, I played a game downloaded from http://www.bruneras.com named 'The Battle of Yavin' (a fullscreen star wars based 3D shooting game). There are NO problems...

here goes some of my specs:
Pentium III 500 MHz CPU, 192MB SDRAM
Windows XP Service Pack 2 build 2600

I'll report later on if I ever discovered a bug.. Smiley

I noticed it was a lot more responsive  Smiley
I also noticed that the top of the top of the Orb overlaps the start menu (As it should in Vista) Smiley

However, after clicking on it, then click away form the Start Menu - It crashed and took Explorer with it Sad

Also I noticed that it also leaps that little black strip on the top of the Orb if you click away form the start menu Sad

Running Windows XP Home Edition SP3 Smiley

Bets of luck fixing it Cheesy The program is good Cheesy

Such as?
Besides, ViOrb was meant for Vista emulation, so the orb will always sit on the top, not the middle of the taskbar like 7 does.
