Windows 7 SuperBar/ViGlance SE2 Demonstration Video

Usually I would write a big long post but.. instead of that i will let the video do all that for me. I think you get the idea. ViGlance Summer Edition 2 will be released the end of this month. Special thanks to Rainoffire for Vista testing.

Update 01/08/2010
During final testing rainoffire and a few other beta testers have found a new "blank icon" bug when testing with 64bit platforms. Until this bug is confirmed fixed I regret to inform you that I will be delaying the release of the new ViGlance SE2 build. I hope to fix this issue within the week however. Thanks for your understanding. Lee

Update 11/08/2010
The OneStep program is ready for the latest build of ViGlance SE2 and I will publish it this evening if I receive no further problems from my BETA testers.

Update 12/08/2010
It is now released and can be downloaded from the product's homepage.

Great! I can't wait to test it. Please release it, Lee! It looks really great and seems to make the work on XP much easier.

Have a wonderful day,

After a couple of testing, Lee was able to get the RecentDoc jumplist to work on Vista. Jumplist worked on XP and Seven since build 1239. Drag and Drop shortcut works fine, and the new Shift+Click for new instance works quite well is a useful feature. Multi-monitor is also supported.

As mentioned public release is at the end of the month.

What I like:
- Arguments for pinned apps
- Opening multiple instances of apps
- Dragging and dropping to pin shortcuts

Still I couple things I didn't like (still no close button on thumbnails?) but a notable improvement over the current build. Smiley

What I'm hoping for:
- No more freezing if a window stops responding (easy way is to hook Office's bundled Script Editor up to IE and pause execution, hanging the window).  I suspect you're using SendMessage without timeouts; use PostMessage when possible, SendMessageWithTimeout otherwise.
- No more lots of thumbnails acting weird and squishing together.
- Tray icon stops resetting the "Always hide/show" state every time I rerun ViGlance  (ViStart's works fine).
- Various theming and positiioning fixes (if ViGlance starts while your computer is locked, when logging in the background of it will be black until it resizes; Unlocking and moving the taskbar causes the taskbar to disconnect from the screen edge).

Those are some good points. The freezing does only happens for me when Firefox starts to crash. As for the Tray icon, that is because the Tray icon doesn't have an Alt Title.

Although, I have not experience this thumbnail problem. And I am unsure what you mean by theme(ing) fixes.

Nope, still the same options as the last public build.

(I think cant tell what click you are making).

Right-Click on both Pinned and Unpinned items. Jumplist will show on both.

I can't wait for the release.  I stopped using this because of the random thumbnails that would pop up and stay up, until I moved my mouse over them. I think it has something to do with interfacing with Windows Blinds. But I am excited to give this another try!! Thanks Lee!!!
