Ok, time to own up I guess.

Last week I went out on the Sunday night and got horrendously drunk. So horrendously drunk that my hangover on Monday was monumental and all I could really do was sit and hope that when I moved my eyes the world didn't take 5 seconds to catch up. The plan was then to do the comic on Tuesday and release it a little later than usual, then I could do a piece of uni work that was due in on Thursday on Wednesday.

Follow so far? Nice plan eh?

Only problem was, late on Monday night I realised I had to hand in the piece of uni work on Wednesday, not Thursday. Bummer. So that meant I spent all Tuesday doing my uni work instead of doing the comic. I then handed that piece of work in on Wednesday and then came back and did the comic. Only I noticed no-one had commented on my missed update last week. So I thought I'd do a test; See how long it takes for someone to notice and mention I hadn't updated the comic.

Turns out an entire week went by until someone (xd_1771, so Yay for xd_1771!) mentioned anything about a lack of updates. So I decided I'd post up the comic I did last week, this week.

Although to be honest I'm thinking about putting this comic into a semi-hiatus for a while. I've got quite a bit of uni work coming up and the comic does take me a few hours on a Monday to do which could probably be better spent. I mean it was fine over the summer while I had nothing else to do besides work but now it seems to be getting in the way a bit.

What does this mean for you? Well what I'll probably do is not stop entirely, I may upload the odd comic every now and again but the comic will not be updated regularly. I'll see how my work load is each week to see if I do a comic or not.

As for today's comic. People rejoice! The Doom Pigeon is laid to rest! He got shot in the body, now he's oh so holy.

Keep rocking and rolling,

Right, there we go. That should cheer everyone up who hated the Doom Pigeon Tongue

Oh, and who could that dashing fellow be in this strip? Could it be? Why yes! I have decided to introduce myself into this comic Tongue Egocentric? Maybe. But I think 3 main characters allows for a variety of views to be banded about in the comic which is always good.

As for why the violence? I may have been playing Borderlands to excess with Weng over the weekend. There's something really satisfying about a revolver with an explosive element. Infact, the comic almost didn't get done because Weng was trying to lure me away to play Borderlands with him...

I will admit I was tempted... Very tempted...

So yeah, with the rankings having been reset on TopWebComics.com it'll be very interesting to see this month, with a full month of voting, just how high we can climb in the rankings. Considering last month we made it up to the mid 200s which I thought was pretty cool. Keep clicking! We'll see how high we can climb this month.

<![CDATA[Strip 22 - Lee Faces The Return Of...]]> http://lee-soft.com/forums/index.php?topic=1250.0
... Please don't hate me ^.^

The return of the Doom Pigeon was prophesied before the first run of Doom Pigeon comics were put up. I feel as though there should be a dramatic riff in there somewhere, a "dun dun dun!!" if you will. I knew I was just gonna have the pigeon show up to chase Lee early on but then I thought it would be funny to have some sort of conclusion to the Doom Pigeon as opposed to Lee just escaping by hiding in the tube.

Also, wouldn't a sign like that be incredibly useful in real life?

"Where would you like to go?"
"Home please."
"Your home is that way and it'll take you roughly 20 minutes."

A static point GoogleMaps directions service if you will.

On to other news!!

Well well well, I am very, very impressed with all the people who have been voting for Life of Lee on TopWebComics.com We have just broken the 300 barrier and we seem to be sitting quite happily at 290. That's just plain awesome Cheesy I mean considering we started halfway through the month and still made it to above 300 then I'm very impressed. But please keep voting every day, I want to see who we can bunny hop over before the end of voting at the end of the month. So yes, the voting is reset on Sunday 1st November. So if we could try and get everyone to jump on and vote that day we get a nice, early foothold. And next month, with a full month of voting, I can't wait to see how well we're gonna do!

<![CDATA[Strip 21 - Indleeana Jones Escapes!]]> http://lee-soft.com/forums/index.php?topic=1229.0
Morning Cheesy

First of all, huge thanks are necessary to everyone who has been voting this past week. We have gone up from 600 and something to over 350. That's just plain awesome! Keep it up and we have a good chance of breaking into the Top 100 which would be amazing.

http://topwebcomics.com/vote/9969/default.aspx

I did notice at one point in the voting though we did make it to the number of The Beast.

As for the comic itself I felt this one had to be done just to finish off the Indleeana Jones story. That moment is a piece of class cinema so I just had to include it in the comic even if it doesn't work very well. Plus as well you get to see that Lee has actually left the store.

Next week will be a fun one....]]>

<![CDATA[Strip 20 - Indleeana Jones Is Stumped By Technology]]> http://lee-soft.com/forums/index.php?topic=1199.0
Afternoon all,

I don't know how many of you have seen these, I know they exist in most city supermarkets. Basically these self-checkout things allow you to scan your own products, bag them and pay for them without having to deal with a cashier. The thing is with these, like all technology, when they're working they're great, I love using them. But when they break, or when they refuse to scan things I just want to push them in front of the nearest large moving vehicle.

Oh and lookie here! We're at Strip 20!! Huzzah! I have survived summer without missing an update. Aren't I so good to all of you? Tongue

Although, as this strip starts to cement itself in Lee-Soft history I want to try and drive it on to bigger and better things. One of those things is something everyone can help with. I signed up for TopWebComics last week, which is an online listing for webcomics (Obviously the higher you are on the list the more likely people are to see you). So what I want to do is see if we can push Life of Lee up into the Top 100. So that's our aim for this month. Get Life of Lee up to the Top 100 by voting for it at TopWebComics.

You have your mission, now go forth!!

<![CDATA[Strip 19 - Things go a bit wrong for Indleeana Jones]]> http://lee-soft.com/forums/index.php?topic=1182.0
Good morning everyone!

Ah, it's a wonder what a good nights sleep can do for you.

So yes, welcome to Strip 19, yes, that's right, 19! As I'm sure you may have guessed by now I do love the Indiana Jones films (Even the latest one had its moments) so tune in next week for the exciting conclusion!!

Right then, on to some super exciting news this week! I have decided, that what with the big 20 coming up next week I can start putting the comic out there a bit, get some more viewers that are coming in for the comic and then notice Lee's great programs (As opposed to the other way around). So where do you all come into this, I hear you cry. Well I've signed myself up for TopWebComics, which is a ranking system you can sign up to whereby people vote for your comic to push it up in the rankings to get it noticed. So I need you guys to vote, every day if possible, by clicking on the little box and going through the little voting process, it's very quick, and very easy so please vote Cheesy]]>

<![CDATA[Strip 18 - Indleeana Jones!]]> http://lee-soft.com/forums/index.php?topic=1152.0
*grumbles something that vaguely resembles a 'good morning'*

Yup, that dreaded time has come. My summer holiday is OVER and I am back in university. Being back in university means a return to early mornings and a half-asleep Will for the entire day. Lee is suffering exactly the same as I am though so it's cool to think I have a brother in arms.

7am is a time that shouldn't exist ¬.¬ That or we should have 30 hour days.

Right, comic. Yes.

Indleeana Jones! And if you don't get the reference then there's no help for you :P Overall I quite like how it came out; the title page was cool to make and a bit of a break from the norm. Plus I'm glad the hat didn't come out looking a total pile of crap, I mean, the shape of it is ok; it's not plastered to his head, a head could conceivably fit under there.

A couple of asides today though, first of all: Alphabeat. Go check out their music now (You can find loads on Youtube so no excuses :P).

Secondly, as I've said before in my newsposts I am a big fan of webcomics. And there is a brilliant webcomicer, Adrian Ramos, a man writing what could be called the modern equivalent of Calvin and Hobbes. This comic is called Count Your Sheep and he's asked for a bit of help, not much, just a bit. Basically one of his creations "My T-Shirt Fairy Tale" is in competition at Zuda comics. What he is asking is fo people to sign up at Zuda comics and vote for his comic - http://www.zudacomics.com/node/1485/ - If you do this and then email him he's offering some pretty cool rewards along with it - tshirtfairytale_fans@ymail.com *breathes in* A digital copy of the first CYS book, an autographed print of your favourite CYS strip, and if you mention that I was the person who sent you the link to the vote there's potential for an entire week of guest strips! How does that sound? Right. Freaking Awesome.]]>

<![CDATA[Strip 17 - Lee Gets Manhandled In A Market]]> http://lee-soft.com/forums/index.php?topic=1119.0
Morning kidlets, welcome to Strip #17 of LOL!

Lee is again trapped in the terrible supermarket with no-one to help him but his lone fishy friend, Bass (pronounced 'Base'). Will Lee ever find his beloved tea bags? Will Lee be arrested for abuse with an aquatic animal? Will Bass ever find true love with that girl who works on aisle 4?

Possibly find out the answers to one of those questions next week!!

Don't touch that remote!

<![CDATA[Strip 16 - Lee At The Supermarket]]> http://lee-soft.com/forums/index.php?topic=1095.0
We've all been there right? You only need one single item and you think it'll be easy just to pop into the local superstore just to pick it up. Well it never is! You always realize you're looking for something that isn't listed on those 'oh so helpful' labels that hang above the aisles but it could fit into a couple of those categories so you have to trawl through each aisle, looking up and down each shelf (Just in case you miss it) to find it. When you still don't find it you then have to hunt down a staff member who will either shrug and say they have no clue either or they will condescendingly lead you to it and then pick it up and hold it in front of you, like you were an idiot who missed something that was right in front of their face.

Yeah, I hate supermarkets.

Love, peace and hair grease kidlets,

<![CDATA[Strip 15 - Lee's On His Way To The Shop]]> http://lee-soft.com/forums/index.php?topic=1063.0
Greetings Ladies and Gentlefolks!

Today's comic is based upon a conversation Weng and I had, which, at the time, struck me as rather amusing. Everyone say "Hi" to Weng again Cheesy

The penguin is called Pen Pen and he's from a series (Various Manga and Anime) called Neon Genesis Evangelion. He tends to pop up and squawk a lot; he's a very independent figure. And if you don't really know who he is then this comic is probably lost on you.

So yeah, that's roughly it for now. Come back next week for the continuation of the exciting adventures of Lee and the Doom Pigeon!!
